Scrabbling
in the bottom
of my bag, I
found it – in the
crack the seam makes –
caught it
with my fingernail
and pulled it forth.
So small, and yet
it glowed, so beautiful
I kept it
breathed on it,
sighed, and
called it hope.
A quadrille for De at dVerse. She’s asking for hope, and all its variants. I hope this hits the spot.
Oh, Sarah. This couldn’t have been more satisfying. Hope does take some scrabbling sometimes, doesn’t it? I absolutely love this.

I love this, Sarah – hope in a crack at the bottom of a bag! I have trouble finding my inhaler some days – maybe it’s in the crack with hope.

What a beautiful thing to find at the bottom of your handbag. My mom’s didn’t have anything in it but chewing gum, (really old gum), lol

Ohhhhh….I wish you could have heard my audible sigh as I finished reading this. This is WONDERFUL! Sometimes it’s like that right, we have to dig deep down to find hope. And sometimes we have to fumble around and through aspects of life to find hope. This just is a perfect descriptive way of describing it! Wonderful!

Tiny bits of hope seem to be a theme worth repeating. Thanks for the reminder that no matter how small hope appears to be, it’s still a lovely fragrance to fill the air.
