Waning moon in an ice blue sky did you breathe a weary sigh
When frosty winter solstice moved you
As you shined your brightest light that night,
Did you hear the angel trumpets on high
Blaring Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah!
When you share wintry dawn with a dazzling white sun
Do you still hear sweet angelic music
And as you die your lonely death in a fading grey sky
Do the aurora clouds mourn your good-bye
Crooning Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah!

Linda, such a beautiful poem. Your poems have even more depth after what you have gone through this year. Stay well, kiddo. Bella hovers near.

A lyrical ode, like a Christmas carol. I like the contrast of the blaring angel trumpets with the clouds’ crooning, and the image of the moon sharing ‘wintry dawn with a dazzling white sun’.

Ponderings of shadow and light for the season we find ourselves in, Linda. Nicely done.

I can hear those ‘Hallelujahs’ and I’m sure the moon is not alone. A beautiful song of winter.
